  • The complete drill path is shown dynamically in a “Decomposition Tree” which displays the break down of values in every drill level.
  • You can click on any node in the decomposition tree to further examine its values.

  • Reporting is easy with %VISUAL. Highlight the area in %VISUAL Viewer window and choose “Ad Hoc Report” from the popmenu. You can select variables to display, filter and sort observations (rows) and conditional formatting. (See below).
  • Reports are created in various formats (HTML, True Excel2010 XLSX, PDF and RTF).
  • %VISUAL can automatically create a repository of reports with generation management. Reports can be automatically published under your web site if you map your drives correctly.

  • Simple filtering values is done like in Excel. Select a column and then select “Simple Filter” from the popmneu.
  • The “Simple Filter” window displays all distinct values with their respective counts. Just select the values that you like to include in your query.

  • %VISUAL “Advanced Filter” window allows you to compose filters on any variable within the dataset. Each variable type (Numeric, Formatted, Char, Date etc.) has specific set of wizards to use when composing the filter.
  • You can check the validity of each element in the filter and run it against the actual data. All elements are automatically connected with an “And” operator but you can change this default settings.

  • Advanced Filter wizards are used to compose each element of the filter. For example, date wizards has a unique GUI that enables setting very complex date queries.
  • The date value is divided into its generic components (day, month and year) and you can set individual filters on any component.
  • %VISUAL Prompts values (created using %VISUAL Prompts Editor, see below) can be integrated into the filter b simply selecting their names from a popmenu.

  • Variables can have a Meta-Data layer imposed on them (requires %VISUAL Enterprise Admin Server). You can select variables to display in %VISUAL Viewer window by point and click interface.
  • Meta-Data layer contains business logic that arranges variables by hierarchies. Each variable can have an associated text that explains its contents and meaning to the end users.
  • Variable lists can be displayed using the Meta-Data layer or by alphabetical ordering.

  • %VISUAL uses three available methods to highlight values inside the Viewer window. Every variable can has its own conditional formatting rule.
  • The “Ranges” method is a static definition method and has the ability to select also Excel conditional formatting symbols to be displayed in %VISUAL reports.
  • The “Percentiles” and “Mean&Std” methods are dynamic methods which refreshes the calculations and color settings each time a filter is set or drill down is performed on the data.
